We did a short hike of two miles at the Lake Ann Pathway adjacent to the Lake Ann State Forest Campground, on a sunny March afternoon. This lovely area is near the town of Lake Ann, a few miles SW of Traverse City, Michigan. There are a total of 5.8 miles on the trail system. We hiked with our snowboots, since it wasn’t deep enough for snowshoes, and not icy enough to warrent wearing the spikes for our boots. The trail we did was mostly flat and very scenic, with views of Lake Ann and the Platte River. For a small trail system, there is a lot of beauty to enjoy. We will have this on our list to return to in other seasons.
