Just out: our product review for Fishell canoe paddles. Getting out for an October paddle on the Platte River and Platte Lake is a treat on a sunny fall day in Michigan! We finally got the chance to get out in the canoe with our new Fishell Paddles. These paddles are cherry wood with the natural finish that requires linseed oil treatment. They are as fun to paddle as they are beautiful.
We purchased these from Fishell Paddles this spring at Canoecopia.
The two paddles we purchased are the Ray Special model, a type of Ottertail style, in cherry wood with a natural finish. This finish requires that we treat them with boiled linseed oil. They are also available in a sealed finish. Vince chose the leather wrap for his paddle handle, while Stacie kept the bare wood. We highly recommend these paddles, especially for deep water lake paddling.
